The continuation of the trial for the alleged rape and abortion case involving Vadel Badjideh was held again at the South Jakarta District Court. In the midst of the ongoing legal process, there was an emotional moment that showed how great the family's support is for the 20-year-old man. Here are the details.
The trial, which took place on Wednesday (9/7/2025), was attended by Vadel's mother, Titine Badjideh, as well as his two siblings, Martin and Bintang Badjideh. They did not come empty-handed. A simple request from Vadel became the top priority for his mother.
When met before the trial began, Titine Badjideh was seen carrying a package. Apparently, its contents were Vadel's favorite food that she specially cooked at home. "Green bean porridge, Vadel's favorite," Titine said briefly but meaningfully.
Martin Badjideh, Vadel's brother, added that their mother's cooking is what his brother misses the most. Besides to ease his longing, the food was also brought to accompany Vadel while waiting for the trial to start.
"So mom's porridge is the best, also brought snacks to keep him company inside while waiting (for the trial to start)," Martin explained.
Not only porridge, there were other requests that the family also fulfilled. Vadel apparently also sent a message to bring his favorite drink to quench his thirst. "He ordered mom's (cooking), and to bring coffee," Martin revealed.
According to Martin, in addition to requests for prayers, food is indeed the most frequently requested thing by Vadel. This shows how much he misses the home atmosphere and the love of family.
Bintang Badjideh added that Vadel's greatest longing is indeed directed towards his family. The man who now has to languish in detention often asks when he can gather again with the people he loves. "Mostly about family, when can we gather again with the family, that's about it," concluded Bintang.
