Musician Ahmad Dhani once again captured public attention with his statements about his ex-wife, Maia Estianty. Dhani revealed the reasons behind his decision to upload two videos on YouTube featuring various confessions from Maia.
The videos have now become a hot topic among netizens. Dhani clearly stated that the purpose of making these videos was to prove that his ex-wife still often makes false accusations about their past.
Ahmad Dhani hopes that with these videos, the public can see the facts from his perspective, while waiting for a response from Maia Estianty regarding the evidence he presented. Ahmad Dhani explained that he is waiting for Maia's response, whether there will be a denial or if she will actually confirm his statements.
"Will Maia deny that it is slander, or is it true? If I say it is slander, and there is no denial, then it is indeed true slander," said Dhani at the KPAI office, Central Jakarta, Thursday (9/7/2025).
The frontman of the band Dewa 19 continued to explain that the two videos he uploaded are purely his own work and were made based on his arguments. He emphasized that if there is no rebuttal from Maia, then his accusations of slander are considered true.
"This is my video. I made two videos. If there is no rebuttal, then that is indeed true slander," he said. Dhani also insisted that he is not bringing up the past in a negative context.
He explained that he only reacted because Maia Estianty has often brought up their past. According to him, he is merely responding to what has been said before.
"Who is talking about the past? Why suddenly accuse me? If Maia hadn't said anything before, there wouldn't be my video either," he stated.
"I have thrown the ball, this is slander. If there is no response, then it means it is indeed slander," said Dhani. Dhani also concluded that his accusation is true if Maia does not provide a response or denial regarding what he has said.
Although it seems there is a heated conflict, Dhani admitted that he does not harbor any resentment behind his decision to upload both videos. "Why resentment? There is none. This is just a proof to the public," Dhani stated.
