Yoshi Sudarso Becomes a Red Flag Guy in the Movie 'BALAS BUDI'

Kapanlagi.com - Actor Yoshi Sudarso is ready to invite the audience to explore the dark side of a relationship through the character Budi in the latest film titled BALAS BUDI. Instead of being the ideal man, Budi is actually referred to as a complete package of a red flag guy by his co-star, Niken Anjani.

Interestingly, Yoshi and Niken are actually close friends in real life. However, this closeness becomes a challenge for both of them when they have to build convincing romantic chemistry in front of the camera during the shooting process.

"We were actually friends before this film. So when I found out we were acting together, it was like, 'Hey, you're in this too, yay.' But the difficult part is that I have to fall in love with her in the film, even though in reality we are already very close friends," said Yoshi Sudarso when met in the Kemang area, South Jakarta, on Saturday (31/1/2026).

Niken mentioned that the production process of this film feels more like playing with friends rather than serious work due to the comfort that has been built among the cast and the entire crew involved.

"The shooting was really fun. It felt more like playing than serious work. Because the film is also fun and we are already comfortable with each other," said Niken.

In the plot, Budi is depicted as a man with a series of bad behaviors that women should be wary of. Niken also reminds women out there to be more careful with men who have manipulative characteristics like the character Budi that she faces in the film produced by Im-a-gin-e.

"There are so many. Love bombing at first, the girl is abundant, good at talking, and then ghosting. Just be careful with people like that," said the woman playing the character named Ayu.

Regarding his role as a troubled man, Yoshi Sudarso chooses to see Budi from a more neutral perspective. As a professional actor, he tries to understand his character's motives without making personal negative judgments so he can portray the role fully and wholeheartedly.

"As an actor, I was taught not to judge the character. If we judge, we can't play that character fully. Everyone has their reasons from their own perspective," he asserted.
