In celebration of Mother's Day, which is commemorated every December 22nd, Lesti Kejora together with her husband Rizky Billar and Mom Uung collaborated to release a single titled 'Menyerah' ('Surrender').
Through this song, they want to give encouragement to breastfeeding mothers to never give up on their journey.
"This song tells the story of someone's lowest point in life, facing various challenges and problems, especially for breastfeeding mothers," said Lesti Kejora during a press conference at The Park Pejaten, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (20/12).
"This is a form of spirit or support that we should not give up as mothers, moms who struggle to love their children. This also commemorates Mother's Day, a form of support from us, from me to the great moms in this world," she continued.
When she was first invited to collaborate, Lesti Kejora didn't need to think twice because she wanted to meet many mothers throughout Indonesia to share stories and give each other encouragement.
"When breastfeeding, my breast milk booster is Mom Uung. When given the opportunity for this collaboration that can give encouragement to great mothers, Lesti didn't need to think twice, let's do it. I really want to meet directly with the great moms who struggle to love their children. When invited, thank you so much, I'm a new mother, I don't know much, but by joining here I want to know more about what Mom Uung has shared," said Lesti Kejora.
Meanwhile, Rizky Billar, who created this song, admitted that he was happy because he could finally make a song with inspirational lyrics. He also dedicated this song not only to mothers but also to everyone who is at their lowest point, urging them not to give up. Â
"I'm really happy to be invited here because if not, I wouldn't have been able to create an inspirational song like this. The lyrics that I pour into this song invite everyone, when they fall, not to linger, not to give up, that sincerity and patience will bear fruit. This can provide positive energy," explained Rizky Billar.
"I also want to write for the general public, not only for mothers but also for fathers, maybe for migrant children who feel at their lowest point," he continued.
According to Uung Victoria Finky, the founder of Mom Uung, Lesti Kejora and Rizky Billar are already in harmony to create the song 'Menyerah'. Through this song, Mom Uung hopes to embrace mothers who are struggling to breastfeed their children.
"Dede (Lesti) and kaka (Billar) are already in harmony to create this song. There were no lyric revisions from the beginning, especially when listening to Dede's voice. There is a positive message that we want to convey. I want to tell you what is happening in society. There are mothers like this who actually need to be embraced because they can't express themselves to their closest family or even their husbands can't express their feelings," concluded Uung Victoria Finky.
At that moment, Lesti couldn't hold back her tears, remembering that breastfeeding is one of the toughest moments she and other mothers go through while struggling to love their children.
