1. Sleeping in the Mosque

Coming from Pontianak, Aulia had to migrate to the Capital City to pursue her dreams. When participating in auditions in Jakarta, Aulia had to spend the night in the Indosiar mosque.

"What's for sure is that I used to sleep in the mosque of the Indosiar Pendopo. So, because we were waiting for friends (from Pontianak) and it was already night, we slept there. Only in the morning did we look for accommodation," said Aulia during a live Instagram event with KapanLagi reporter on Wednesday (16/2).

2. Using College Registration Money for Auditions in Jakarta

Aulia then revealed that when she went for auditions in Jakarta, she only had three million rupiahs. In fact, that money was supposed to be used by Aulia to register at one of the universities in Pontianak.

"Aulia's own savings amount to three million, which (should have been) used by Aulia to register for college in Pontianak. Because of the encouragement from friends, this money was eventually used to buy tickets, meals, and accommodation (during the selection process). Well, three million rupiahs is just enough in Jakarta," she said.

3. Overheating While Waiting in Line

Aulia admitted that the most unforgettable moment was the scorching heat of the sun while waiting to be called into the audition room.

"I remember it clearly, from 7 in the morning, it felt like being dried out like a fish! So, there was no roof while waiting for the audition. I only entered the tent at 2 in the afternoon," said Aulia.

4. Standing for Hours

Aulia also mentioned that during the hours of waiting in line, she couldn't sit down.

"Imagine, from 7 in the morning, we couldn't sit, we had to stand the whole time. I was really dizzy," she continued.

5. Separated from Her Friends

Aulia, who was only 18 years old at the time, was certainly afraid of being alone in the midst of a crowd. She agreed with her friends from Pontianak to always be together.

"Initially, we agreed with our friends not to separate because it would be very crowded. But it turned out we still got separated," she said.

6. Nervous at First

The Dangdut Academy audition at that time was the first talent search audition for Aulia. It's understandable that the daughter of Abdul Kadir and Safarida felt nervous and trembling.

"Because it was hot, I felt dizzy, and my hands were shaking. I was also nervous and my heart was pounding," said the woman born in 1998.

7. Inspired by Weni DA3's Success

Aulia admitted that her intention to audition was inspired by Weni's journey, a contestant from Pontianak who became the runner-up in the third season of Dangdut Academy.

"At that time (Weni's success) made Pontianak, and West Kalimantan in general, very excited. Previously, there were many doubts for us who came from the village. Thanks to the encouragement from Kak Weni and Aulia's friends, she became confident to participate in the selection process in Jakarta," she concluded.
