Before becoming a famous dangdut singer and flooded with jobs, Wika Salim had to go through a difficult life. This 32-year-old woman from Bogor has apparently started her career at a young age. The ups and downs of life as a singer since young must be endured by Wika Salim. What are her stories like?
Wika Salim is the youngest child of Agus Salim and Mujiarti. Both of her parents worked as musicians. Wika's father is a dangdut orchestra guitarist, while her mother was a dangdut singer in her youth.
Before becoming famous like now and performing on grand stages, Wika first tried simple stages. Since she was young, she has been a singer performing at various places such as celebrations and weddings.Â
At her young age, Wika participated in a dangdut talent competition on a private TV station. Although she did not win the title, the competition opened opportunities for her to be known more widely.
Wika experienced unpleasant treatment from her neighbors. She claimed not to have a television at her home, so she often watched at her neighbor's house. Initially, she was allowed to watch together, but because it happened too often, her neighbors became annoyed with Wika Salim's presence.
Wika Salim admitted that she was once booed by the audience because her dance moves were too stiff. It all started when the audience wanted to give her a cash gift while Wika Salim was singing. However, because Wika Salim's body movements were too stiff and not dynamic, the audience felt dissatisfied.
In addition to singing, Wika has also tried her luck in acting by appearing in television films (FTV) and soap operas. In 2014, Wika was involved in several FTVs. Additionally, she has also acted in a popular soap opera on one of the private TV stations.
Wika Salim was previously married to a songwriter named Candra Permana. They married quietly and it was not revealed by the media. Unfortunately, this marriage did not last long. Wika filed for divorce from her husband in early 2018.Â
Currently, Wika Salim is dating a businessman named Max Adam Kamil. Their relationship has been ongoing since August 2022. Wika does not deny that she really wants to get married. However, she says that she is not targeting when she will walk down the aisle.
