After Being Left by Members, Management Ensures Trio Macan Won't Disband

Kapanlagi.com - The vocal group Trio Macan has been rumored to disband after three of its members, Chacha Sherly, Lia Amelia, and Dara Rafika, recently left. When asked, Agi Sugiyanto, representing Trio Macan's management, confirmed that Trio Macan will not disband.

"Trio Macan will not disband. Currently, Trio Macan is preparing for a new branding and new members who are fresher and younger. As a brand, the name Trio Macan still remains in the hearts of Indonesian music fans and will continue to color the Indonesian music scene," said Agi Sugiyanto, CEO of PT Media Musik Proaktif, the holder of the Trio Macan trademark, when contacted on Tuesday (28/1).

1. Contract Terminated

Agi Sugiyanto also confirmed that Chacha Sherly, Lia Amelia, and Dara Rafika are no longer part of Trio Macan because the management decided not to extend their contracts, while on the other hand, they want to pursue solo careers.

"We ended the contract amicably. Well, it just so happened that their contracts have expired. Some of them have been with Trio Macan for 10 years, some for 9 years. Perhaps they want to pursue solo careers. Besides, the management has already planned for regeneration. So it's understandable. We terminated the contract," said Agi Sugiyanto.

2. Trio Macan Experiences Personnel Changes

According to Agi, Trio Macan has undergone several personnel changes since 2005. Chacha, Dara, and Lia are the third generation. Personnel changes are usually marked by the emergence of hit singles. Trio Macan has released albums and singles with debut songs that became hits, such as SMS (2006), Makhluk Tuhan Paling Seksi, Iwak Peyek (2010), Buka Sitik Joss, Oplosan, Edan Turun, Jaran Goyang (2016), Karna Su Sayang, etc.

3. Trio Macan Will Remain Exist

Agi is optimistic that, despite personnel changes, Trio Macan will remain exist and become a trendsetter in Indonesian dangdut music.

"We have prepared a new concept. It will definitely be fresher and younger. In line with the demands of the times. Each generation has its era. In the future, Trio Macan must be more dynamic, responding to the demands of the music industry," said Agi.

Currently, Agi continued, the management team is conducting personnel selection along with album preparations. However, Agi refused to disclose the selection process. "What is certain is that there are candidates, but it is still in the process of deliberation. Just wait for the new breakthrough from Trio Macan with new personnel who are fresher and more current," he added.
