Chairman of LMKN Offers Mediation in the Case of Lesti Kejora and Yoni Dores: We Are One Community

The case of alleged copyright infringement involving Lesti Kejora being dragged into the criminal realm by Yoni Dores, the brother of the late Deddy Dores, continues to unfold. In relation to this, the National Collective Management Institute (LMKN) has also spoken out.

The chairman of LMKN, Dharma Orat, stated that his organization is opening a mediation space for both parties involved in the dispute. He emphasized the importance of a deliberative spirit in resolving conflicts like this.

"Yes, it is the right of all parties to seek norms of justice, right? Of course, if there is no deliberation for consensus... but I received a message from our Haji, we urge that, if possible, we sit together to find a solution," said Dharma Orat when met in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, Friday (23/5/2025).

According to him, mediation efforts can come not only from the disputing parties but can also be an initiative from LMKN as the institution that oversees the rights of musicians.

"So, in legal processes, there must also be mediation, and of course, LMKN is ready to mediate if needed or it is our initiative to gather like this," explained Dharma.

He added that all parties involved in the music world should understand each other because they are part of one big community."Because we are actually one community," he added.

However, Dharma still reminded that in the legal realm, the use of creative works must still obtain permission from the rights holder or their heirs.

"But the point is, that using a creator's work must be with the permission of the rights holder or their heirs, that is the essence," he emphasized.
