Declared as a Suspect After Being Reported by Syahrini, Lia Ladysta Shocked for the First Time Knowing

Kapanlagi.com - Dangdut singer Lia Ladysta was shocked when she found out that she was declared as a suspect in a defamation case filed by Syahrini regarding allegations of defamation in March 2019. This was conveyed by Leo Situmorang, Lia Ladysta's legal counsel when met at the Nagaswara office on Monday (14/9/2020).

"She was shocked, scared, and anxious when she first found out. But after we provided input, she is now calm and will follow our instructions as her legal counsel," said Leo Situmorang.

1. Appointed as a Suspect

Lia appreciates the police's decision to appoint her as a suspect and will cooperate. She plans to comply with the police's summons on Wednesday (16/9) to undergo questioning as a suspect.

"We appreciate the police's decision and we will cooperate. Let's see how it goes on Wednesday. If she is already a suspect, the direction is definitely towards the court, and we will continue to accompany Lia," said Leo.

2. Believed to be Innocent

During the upcoming questioning, Leo plans to bring some evidence and provide additional testimony so that his client does not have to go through the trial process. Because Leo believes that his client is innocent.

"Of course, we will also provide legal explanations and evidence so that the Prosecutor's Office can assess whether it is worthy of trial or not," he explained.

3. Defamation of Syahrini's Good Name

Lia Ladysta reported that Syahrini's issue started from Lia's statement on a television program, which mentioned that Syahrini had a special relationship with someone referred to as Pak Haji, on March 14, 2019.

For her actions, Lia Ladysta is threatened to be charged under Article 27 paragraph (3) JO Article 45 paragraph (3) of the Indonesian Law No.19 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law No.11 of 2008 concerning ITE (Information and Electronic Transactions) and/or Article 310 of the Indonesian Penal Code (KUHP) and/or Article 311 of the Indonesian Penal Code (KUHP), regarding defamation and/or slander through electronic media.
