Evi Masamba Once Wanted to Quit Being an Artist Because She Was Compared to Animals

"I almost wanted to quit being an artist because of those netizens. But thankfully, I have a lot of supportive family and friends, so I continue to pursue my career, and I'm grateful that I'm still here until now," said Evi in Jakarta, on Tuesday (4/2).

1. Trash Mouth Netizens

The insults and curses that are unworthy, Evi admitted, started when she won the talent search event Dangdut Academy season two, a few years ago. Until now, there are still a handful of netizens who continue to mock her.

"Her mouth is like trash, insulting my physical appearance, comparing me to animals, and various other things. It seems that there are netizens who still can't accept that I became the winner in the competition last time," she said.

2. Already Used to It

In the past, Evi said she used to be provoked emotionally. But now, she can control herself and see it as part of the risk of being a public figure, even though she admitted that the mockery from netizens is very hurtful.

"I now consider it normal, it was different when I just won the competition, I was shocked at that time," she said.
