Fildan Rahayu and Mila DA7 Say Dangdut is Becoming More Popular with Gen Z

Kapanlagi.com - The audition for D'Academy 8 (DA 8) is always flooded with young talents from the homeland, especially Generation Z who are increasingly fond of dangdut music. Through the auditions, one of the results will be the emergence of new dangdut singers from Generation Z, and dangdut is becoming more loved by the public.

"Dangdut music is getting more amazing, with the emergence of young singers like Mila. Now dangdut is increasingly liked, especially by Gen-Z. Gen Z loves dangdut more and more," said Fildan, accompanied by Mila at the Offline Audition of D'Academy 8, Giri Loka Building - UPN Veteran Surabaya, Saturday (9/5).

Fildan and Mila are judges and guest stars at the Offline Audition of D'Academy 8 (DA 8) in Surabaya. Young dangdut talents from various cities in Indonesia are lining up to get the chance to showcase their vocal abilities.

"They are really ready, very prepared. God willing, their voices will be as good as expected. Hopefully, we will find something different from before in DA 7. Because Indosiar has already had many extraordinary dangdut singers from DA 1 to DA 7 with unique character traits. Hopefully, we can get even more unique ones going forward," explained Fildan.

1. East Java Source of Dangdut Singer Talent

East Java, in particular, has become a source of talent for dangdut singers, including the presence of Valen from Madura in DA 7. It is hoped that there will be more talented participants who will go to Jakarta.

Fildan and Mila urged the participants to perform according to their own character. Show the talent and abilities that other participants do not have.

"Have your own character that is different from other singers. Prepare your mental state, don’t be nervous, don’t look similar to others. Have your own characteristics. Hopefully, there will be the next Valen," he expressed.

2. Appreciation from Fildan

Fildan also appreciated the participants who have performed in their distinctive clothing and style. Some participants also have the ability to play musical instruments and unique vocals, such as nyinden and others.

The offline auditions for D'Academy 8 were successfully held in Musi Banyuasin Regency on Saturday (April 18), Medan City on Sunday (April 19, 2026), Sidenreng Rappang Regency on Saturday (April 25), and Makassar City on Sunday (April 26).

The D'Academy 8 auditions were also held in Balikpapan (May 2), Cirebon (May 3), in addition to Surabaya (May 9) and Jakarta (May 10) as the closing auditions.
