The audition process for Dangdut Academy 8 (DA 8) has just completed and attracted the attention of many parties, including seniors from previous seasons. April, a graduate of DA 7, had the opportunity to directly see the new talents who will compete.

April feels optimistic about this new season because she sees many talented participants. For her, the presence of DA 8 is a good step to continue producing new stars in the music industry.

"I think the emergence of DA8 is good because there are indeed a lot of multitalented kids out there," said April when met at Emtek City Studio, West Jakarta, Monday (8/6/2026).

April herself has been directly involved in the talent search process as the host of the auditions. She collaborates with several other popular names to guide the selection process for prospective participants.

In her experience as an audition host, April was amazed by the vocal quality of the participants who registered. Not only the voices, but the participants also brought other skills that made the audition process even more colorful.

"Yesterday I also hosted the DA8 auditions with Syaqirah and Kak Jirayut. The voices were great. Besides singing, there were many other talents as well; some could even perform silat," said April.

Seeing such great potential, April has high hopes for the success of DA 8. She wants the participants to develop rapidly and bring a new color to the world of dangdut.

"Hopefully the DA8 children can develop rapidly, not just the champions. I hope DA8 can, what is it, be more successful than before," she said.

April acknowledged that watching the audition process reminded her of her own struggles. She felt an emotional connection when seeing the struggles of the new contestants.

"Watching the audition yesterday was a bit of a flashback to myself, because there were really a lot of songs that we often performed in auditions and it turns out they performed them too," said April.
