"We used to be paid Rp 250 million. We were also contracted for five years by the richest regent," said Tessa Mariska when met in the Kebayoran Lama area, South Jakarta, on Thursday (13/7).

"But after that, the singer from the talent search show left, and from there they didn't want to pay us that much anymore," she added.

Still reminiscing about the past, Tessa Mariska's name turns out to be given by a producer. The name is a combination of her child's name and a typical souvenir from her hometown.

"After that, my name was changed. My child's name is Tasya, Mariska is the markisa fruit, a typical fruit from Medan, so it became Tessa Mariska," she said.

Now, after no longer being heavily involved in the entertainment industry, Tessa Mariska chooses to focus on her family and dive into the world of politics.

"I continue to focus on my family and I have been assigned to the Indonesian Parliament since 2009. Until now, I may no longer be able to do shows outside the city because I have prioritized my duties," explained Tessa.
