Lala Widy: The Story of Her Early Career Until Releasing a Song Titled PPKM - Disappointed in Canceling a Duet with Wika Salim

Previously, Lala Widy herself was a dangdut figure who always mesmerized men with her stage performances. In fact, many people consider Lala Widy to be the next Via Vallen.

"I started my singing career from one stage to another just like other singers from East Java, and finally I decided to take a step to Jakarta. My seniors like mbak Via and mbak Inul are from the same region, and I want to be like them. I want to try my luck," said Lala Widy when met in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, on Tuesday (17/8).

1. Planning to Duet with Wika Salim

Currently, Lala Widy is busy preparing the music video for her latest single. The single, which she was supposed to sing as a duet with Wika Salim, is titled PPKM (Pelan-Pelan Kamu Menghilang).

"Today we shot the music video for the PPKM song, we also took the vocal, which stands for Pelan Pelan Kamu Menghilang (Slowly You Disappear). The story is about a guy ghosting. While during PPKM we maintain distance because of Covid, this one is about maintaining distance when we have already fallen in love and then suddenly disappear," she said.

"That's right, at first I was supposed to duet with Wika Salim but I don't really understand why it got canceled. Initially, this song was supposed to be a solo and then became a duo, and now it's back to being a solo," she continued.

2. Although Disappointed, the Show Must Go On

Incidentally, Lala Widy admitted to idolizing Wika Salim, so when she had the opportunity to duet with her idol, Lala was very happy. However, the opportunity did not materialize, and although she felt disappointed, it didn't matter to Lala Widy because the show must go on.

"Actually, if I'm disappointed, I might feel a little sad because I wanted to duet with my idol but it didn't happen. Well, if I have to go solo, it's okay, the show must go on," she explained.

3. Hoping the Song Can Entertain the Public

In addition, Lala Widy certainly hopes that this PPKM song can be accepted and enjoyed by the wider community. Through her new song, Lala Widy also wants to invite her fans to eliminate the anxiety caused by the never-ending Covid-19 pandemic.

"Hopefully, the PPKM song can be accepted by all layers of society, because we are currently in the PPKM period, so don't stress, don't worry, just listen to the PPKM song and hopefully it can be accepted and enjoyed, so everyone who listens can dance," she concluded.
