Lesti and Rizky Billar Threatened with 10 Years in Prison by KPI East Java Request for Apology

Kapanlagi.com - Some time ago, the couple Lesti and Rizky Billar were reported to the authorities for allegedly committing public deception. This problem began with their extravagant wedding, while they also admitted to having a religious marriage.

Based on this, the Indonesian Youth Congress (KPI) East Java finally went to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police to file a complaint against the couple who are known to be soon to have a child.

"We will file a complaint, based on several considerations and directions from the Chairman of the Indonesian Youth Congress to file a complaint," said Edi Prasetio, the chairman of KPI East Java, as quoted from Inserlive (8/10).

KPI East Java also wants Lesti and Billar to apologize to the public for causing a commotion due to their wedding and contradictory statements.

"Our goal is simple, Lesti and Billar need to apologize to the public so that peace can be achieved," said the man.

In addition, KPI East Java also gave an ultimatum to the celebrity couple if they do not apologize to the public.

"If there is no effort to apologize to the public, then we will proceed with the reporting process," he added.

1. Threatened with 10 Years in Prison

The article used to ensnare the couple is Article 266 of the Criminal Code concerning document forgery and also Articles 14 and 15 of Law No. 1 of 1946 concerning the dissemination of false news.

"Article 266 carries a sentence of 7 years. Meanwhile, Articles 14 and 15 of Law No. 1 of 1946 carry a sentence of 10 years," said Edi Prastio, lawyer and chairman of the Indonesian Youth Congress (KPI) East Java at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Thursday (7/10/2021).

To strengthen their complaint, Edi Prastio claimed to have submitted several pieces of evidence to the police.

"The evidence we submitted includes the programs uploaded by two TV stations, the fatwa from MUI, and also the views of Bathsnul Masail PWNU East Java," said Edi Prastio.
