Mala Agatha Clarifies 'Iclik Cinta' Which Turns Out to Be an Abbreviation, Faces Family Criticism - Loses Job on TV

Dangdut singer Mala Agatha provides clarification after the Iclik Cinta music video went viral due to filming at the National Library of Bung Karno. This was deemed inappropriate as the word iclik in Javanese has a negative meaning.

When met by the KapanLagi.com team in Blitar, East Java, Mala Agatha stated that the word iclik mentioned in her song is actually an abbreviation. What is the complete story?

Initially, Mala mentioned that she received reprimands from her family as soon as they found out that her song went viral and received negative reactions and criticism from various parties.

"Of course, my family scolded me, sis. I was bombarded on WhatsApp, sent links, 'hey, what's going on with you,' well, it's too late now," said Mala.

Then, she mentioned that there were several losses she incurred due to the insults and criticisms related to the song she performed with Icha Chellow.

"There are definitely losses, for sure, sis. Making the master is quite expensive, from the audio, the video. The video team, and the talent I brought (Icha Chellow), I paid for everything, including accommodation," said Mala.

"Actually, I also have a job at one of the TV stations, it should have been during Ramadan, but because I'm currently facing this misfortune, it got canceled," she continued.

The woman born in 1998 then clarified that the meaning of the word 'iclik' in her song is an abbreviation, not a term with an inappropriate meaning in Javanese.

"In my song, iclik stands for Ikatan Cewek Lumayan Cantik, just like me," she said with a smile.

Nevertheless, Mala admitted her mistake. She and her team stated that they need to be more selective in choosing songs, video concepts, locations, and more. Mala hopes this incident will make her better.
