Revealed, Initial V Singer Arrested for Drug Abuse is Velline Chu

Kapanlagi.com - The police finally revealed a dangdut singer with the initial V who was arrested by the police for drug abuse. The woman in question is Velline Chu alias Velline Ratu Begal, detained at her home in Bekasi, West Java.

"It started from public reports about the suspicions of these suspects who are allegedly frequent drug users at home," said the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Commissioner Pol Endra Zulpan, at the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Monday (10/1).

"The first suspect is Budi Haryanto alias BH, a 34-year-old man, and the second is Gusti Ningsih alias Velline Chu, a 40-year-old woman, they are husband and wife," Zulfan added.

After being apprehended, both of them have also undergone urine tests, and the results show that they are positive for consuming the drug known as sabu.

"Bb, who was apprehended, had 1 pack of sabu weighing 0.08 grams, a used pipette containing 2.78 grams of sabu, and a bong and plastic bong with 1 unit of a cell phone," Zulfan concluded.

2. Facing Prison

Finally, the police have charged Velline Chu and her husband under Law no. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics, article 112 paragraph 1 sub-article 27 paragraph 1 and article 132 paragraph 1 of Law no. 35 of 2009.

"The minimum punishment is 4 years in prison and the maximum is 12 years in prison," he said.

3. Reasons for Using Sabu

Velline Chu, a dangdut singer who was arrested by the police along with her husband at their home on January 8, 2022, revealed her reasons for consuming the drug known as sabu.

To the investigators, she stated that the trauma from her past experiences of frequent domestic violence by her ex-husband was the trigger. Velline Chu wanted to forget that trauma by consuming drugs.

"To alleviate the pain caused by the trauma she experienced from domestic violence by her ex-husband, not the current husband. Her previous husband used sabu to overcome that trauma," said the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Commissioner Pol Endra Zulpan, at the South Jakarta Metro Police Station on Monday (1/10).

4. Just Started Using

In addition, Velline Chu told the investigators that she always used drugs accompanied by her husband, Budi Haryanto, who was also arrested by the police.

"Just started using (sabu) according to her confession, we will further investigate her digital footprint, and it will be revealed later. We will see if what she confessed about always using it with her husband is true," she said.

5. Threat of Punishment

From the arrest, the police managed to secure evidence in the form of 1 package of methamphetamine weighing 0.08 grams, used methamphetamine residue in a glass pipette weighing 2.78 grams, and also a bong and a plastic bong for smoking methamphetamine, as well as 1 mobile phone unit.
