Before passing away, Ona Sutra was known to have suffered a stroke. However, according to the family, before taking his last breath, Ona Sutra was in good health.

"Father has recovered from the stroke. Since four months ago, he moved from Medan to here and was able to walk around. That's why we were shocked earlier," said Dolly Sutra, the youngest child of the late Ona Sutra.

Ona Sutra was a dangdut singer born in Sawit Seberang, Langkat, North Sumatra. As a singer, Ona had a distinctive appearance, which included sunglasses and long hair.
