Starting From Being Offered by a Man with a Big Nose to Racing with Robbers, Weni DA Tells the Ins and Outs of Her Career Journey

Kapanlagi.com - Weni Wen or better known as Weni DA tells her career journey before becoming a contestant on Dangdut Academy. Apparently, it was not easy for Weni to reach this point considering that her dream of becoming a singer encountered many obstacles.

In a live interview session with Kapanlagi On Air, Thursday (22/7), Weni briefly explained her life as a singer in cafes and wedding parties. In fact, she also poured her story into a novel entitled Bunglon Khatulistiwa.

"I used to perform at events in cafes, and it was not dangdut music. In one day, I could perform various genres, pop in the morning, dangdut at weddings in the afternoon, and multi-genre in cafes at night, so I had to memorize regional songs, Chinese songs, Batak songs, Javanese songs, and Western songs as well. If someone requested a song and I couldn't sing it, I wouldn't receive any tips, so I had to be able to do it," said Weni Wen.

"If I were to tell my past life journey, it would be too long, that's why I once had a novel titled Bunglon Khatulistiwa. It tells the story of my life in the past until I became a participant in Dangdut Academy," she continued.

1. Tell Your Experience

Weni also shared her experience of receiving a job call outside the city, which she traveled by motorcycle for nearly 200km. There was also a time when she had a flat tire in the middle of the forest and she could only cry.

"I once sang at a wedding outside the city, it was almost 200km away. I used my own motorcycle, that was the farthest. I also had a flat tire and cried in the middle of the forest with no tire patch," she said.

In addition, considering that her hometown is dominated by forests and palm plantations, Weni admitted that she was once chased by robbers while on the road. Fortunately, Weni managed to escape and hide.

"I was chased by robbers, I fought back while riding my motorcycle, they sped up, chased me, and suddenly braked. They continued on, so I entered the palm plantation and hid there. It was exciting," she explained.

2. Not an Easy Career Journey

Not only that, she has also had an unpleasant experience when she was offered and considered a naughty woman by a dishonest man when singing at a cafe. Therefore, Weni said that her career journey is not easy.

"I've even been offered by a customer at a cafe because they thought I was a naughty girl. Well, I somewhat enjoy everything I do because it's also for the sake of my family," she concluded.

With her unpleasant experiences, Weni is a graduate of Dangdut Academy and is now well-known by the Indonesian people.
