Gunawan and Rara have often been paired in various occasions. Previously, Gunawan LIDA and Rara LIDA frequently performed on stage by singing songs from other artists. True enough, this time Indosiar is accommodating both of them in a duet project where Gunawan LIDA and Rara LIDA will release a new song.

When offered this project, initially they didn't expect this moment, but in fact, both of them admitted that they were very excited about it. Gunawan LIDA admitted that he didn't expect it when he was first told about the project. Similarly, Rara LIDA expressed her surprise and excitement about this project, which had actually been discussed last year.

"Gunawan didn't think about it, suddenly he was told that they wanted to talk about something, I was very happy (that it finally happened)," said Gunawan during a recent virtual interview.

"Actually, in 2020 there was talk that Rara and Gunawan would have a single made for them. We took it as Aamin, Insha Allah." Rara continued, "It was also exciting to get this single. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the recording process was done separately. This made it quite difficult for Rara and Gunawan to delve into the song. Despite the challenges, both of them tried their best to ensure that this project would not fail and be in vain. "Recording process was a bit difficult because each of us had to build our own chemistry," said Gunawan. "Since we couldn't see our duet partner during the recording, Rara imagined someone who was happy and funny, like when we often duet together on Indosiar," added Rara.

According to Rara, this song has a different genre from the songs she often performs, so it takes time to learn it. This song has a classical genre and must be colored with typical dangdut melodies.

"Because this song has a different genre from Rara's previous songs. It needs extra learning, before recording, I listened to the song first, really studied it," said Rara.

Gunawan also felt the same way, but he was grateful because Rara is a duet partner who can balance him. Indeed, Rara has previously released three solo singles, so she is quite smooth in taking vocals.

"When it comes to voice quality, there is no need to ask anymore, how Rara performs on stage. Gunawan has a difficult vocal range when looking for a female duet partner, but with Rara, he can, she can balance him. So he doesn't feel overwhelmed when dueting," explained Gunawan.

Both were born from the talent search event Liga Dangdut Indonesia (LIDA) and they are often paired by Gunara (the name for Gunawan and Rara's fans). Proudly, this duet single is dedicated to Gunara by Rara and Gunawan. Gunawan even hopes that their duet project will use the name Gunara.

“According to Gunawan, it would be fun to use the name Gunara. Because Gunara fans are already enthusiastic, this is a gift for them for supporting us this far,” Gunawan explained.

“Well, Alhamdulillah, we are given this single and we hope it will last long, continuously exist, and we can work together, create together, and have programs together, so that Gunara friends are happy together,” Rara concluded.
