Moreover, he is known to work as a doctor in a public hospital in Pariaman. Yes, who else but Iqhbal LIDA.

There is an interesting story from a champion of Liga Dangdut Indonesia 2021, Rahmadonal Mohammad Iqhbal or better known as Iqhbal LIDA. It turns out that Iqhbal was initially not allowed by his parents to audition.

But before that, Iqhbal mentioned that since he was a child, he has had a hobby of singing and had aspirations of becoming an artist. His enthusiasm increased when he saw Lesti win as the champion in Dangdut Academy season one.

1. Request Permission Every Year

At that time, Iqhbal was still in his medical education, so his parents did not allow him to audition. Long story short, after a lengthy discussion, Iqhbal's parents finally gave permission on the condition that he finished his education first. The West Sumatra ambassador also admitted that he had to ask for permission from his parents every year when the Indosiar dangdut competition was held.

"Since I was little, I liked singing dangdut, and when I just entered medical school, DA 1 was held, and Lesti became the champion. So, in the end, Iqhbal told his parents that he wanted to participate because seeing Lesti become the champion was very inspiring, but he was not allowed. So, every year, we had discussions about the audition, and in the end, we reached a point where we decided to finish our education first before participating," said Iqhbal during a live interview with Kapanlagi On Air, Wednesday (22/9).

2. Online Audition Leads to Victory

"Alhamdulillah, I decided to participate in the online audition for LIDA 2021 because it made auditioning easier. I didn't have to come, wait in line, or ask for a day off. My parents allowed me to try it first and Alhamdulillah, at that time, I was also working as a doctor," he continued. With the blessings and support from my parents, Iqhbal finally emerged as the champion, and the waiting to audition was not in vain.

In addition, considering that I now have two professions, being a doctor and a singer, the graduate of Diponegoro University admitted that he doesn't have difficulty managing his time. Iqhbal even considers singing as a way to relieve stress.

"Alhamdulillah, everything went smoothly. Of course, the support and blessings from my parents were crucial, so Iqhbal's waiting was not in vain. No, usually I often take gigs on weekends, singing also becomes a stress healing for Iqhbal," he concluded.
