Kapanlagi.com - Sad news comes from the dangdut world. Senior dangdut singer Yunita Ababiel passed away on Sunday (13/7/2025) at 01:00 WIB at her home in Depok.
A number of other dangdut singers expressed their condolences for Yunita's passing, including Rhoma Irama and Elvy Sukaesih, who made posts of mourning for the deceased. Comments were also filled with expressions of sorrow from fellow dangdut stars to netizens.
"With prayers, may ALLAH Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala accept the deeds of the deceased, forgive all her mistakes, and grant her a noble place beside ALLAH Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. Ameen Allahumma Ameen," wrote Rhoma.
Elvy Sukaesih also feels a deep loss for the figure of Yunita Ababil. The singer, commonly known as Umie, offers her best prayers for the deceased and the family left behind.
"God willing, a good ending in forgiveness, mercy, and the pleasure of Allah. May all her good deeds and worship be accepted. May Allah widen her grave and place her in a noble place, among the people of paradise, the people of goodness. May Allah bless the entire extended family with good health, patience, and resilience in His mercy," wrote Elvy.
Fitria Elvy, Uut Permatasari, Camelia Malik, Dewi Perssik, Eddies Adelia, Irfan Hakim, and Krisna Mukti expressed their condolences in the comments section of Umie Elvy.
Yunita Ababil, born in Bandung on January 17, 1965, began her music career as a pop singer under the name Jujun N. in 1979. She was discovered by maestro A. Riyanto and released 12 pop albums in the 80s.
A significant transformation occurred in the mid-90s when she switched to dangdut and changed her stage name to Yunita Ababil. She became known through the album Pertengkaran (1997) and skyrocketed with the hit song Trauma (1999). Known for her strong vocals and bold exploration, Yunita was a multi-talented figure who successfully navigated the genres of pop, dangdut, and religious music for over 40 years.
