If you follow or even enjoy all the classic Disney fairy tales, you are likely familiar with the iconic story of Snow White. Unfortunately, the Live Action version of the film has not been well received by the public, partly due to the behavior of Rachel Zegler, the somewhat problematic lead actress. Here are some issues that have led to her being criticized and even reprimanded by the producers of Snow White.

Unfortunately, Rachel Zegler's involvement in Disney's live-action Snow White (2025) has sparked a lot of controversy and negative reactions from some fans. Some of the main reasons Rachel Zegler has faced criticism are her comments about the film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), which she referred to as 'weird' because it features a woman falling in love with an unknown man.

Rachel's casting as Snow White also shattered the expectations of many Snow White fans because she is considered 'not suitable.' Many criticized the choice of Rachel Zegler, who is of Colombian descent and not of European descent as in the original story.

Recently, she also caused a stir for Disney due to her tweets on X in 2024. According to Variety on Wednesday (26/3/2025), she thanked her fans after appearing at the D23 fan event hosted by Disney, which introduced the first trailer for Snow White.

But following the first tweet, she added a second post containing a pro-Palestine message. She wrote, "and always remember, free palestine." Although this isn't a major issue in Indonesia, this politically charged tweet shocked the Snow White film team as they feared it might disturb potential viewers of the film. Producer Marc Platt was reported to have flown from New York to meet with Zegler directly.

Previously, she also made a controversial tweet that mentioned the name of the American president. "F*** Donald Trump," she exclaimed on her personal Instagram. She added, "I hope Trump supporters never find peace." Disney was reportedly reprimanding her again.

Reportedly, the Snow White film has only grossed $87.3 million globally, while the production budget reached $250 million. Nevertheless, in some of her Instagram posts, this Colombian-born woman, born on May 3, 2001, still considers her film to be one of the best currently.
