Universal Studio announced the first look of the film WICKED last Monday (12/2). It was reported that the film's release was postponed in 2021 due to the pandemic that hindered film production. The screening of this wizard fantasy film is rumored to be on Thanksgiving in November 2024.
Directed by Jon M. Chu, this film is an adaptation of the novel by Gregory Maguire with the same title, WICKED: THE LIFE AND TIMES OF THE WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST. Featuring Ariana Grande as the main star with Cynthia Erivo makes this fantasy film highly anticipated by fans.

WICKED is the untold story of the witches of Oz. Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) is a green-skinned girl who has not yet discovered her true powers. She is also misunderstood because of her unusual skin color. She meets Glinda (Ariana Grande), a popular girl with special abilities and ambitions but has not yet found her true heart.
Their meeting at Shiz University in the Land of Oz strengthens their friendship. It seems impossible for a popular girl to be friends with a green-skinned girl. Their encounter with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz brings a new path for both of them. Being at the crossroads of good and evil forces them to part ways. Tempted by power, Glinda is lured towards popularity. On the other hand, Elphaba remains true to herself and the people around her. The consequences they both face lead to Glinda becoming the good witch and Elphaba becoming the wicked witch of the West.
