Getting to Know Adrien Brody, The Brutalist Film Actor Favored to Win Best Actor at the 2025 Oscars!

Born on April 14, 1973, in Jackson Heights, New York, USA, the actor whose full name is Adrien Nicholas Brody began his acting career at the age of 13.

Throughout his career, Adrien has mostly played antagonistic characters, such as Luca Changretta in the series PEAKY BLINDERS and Dmitri in THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL. However, he won the Best Actor award at the Academy Awards for the first time as Władysław Szpilman, the protagonist role in the film THE PIANIST in 2003.

His victory in 2003 made him the youngest actor to win the Best Actor category at the Academy Awards, being 29 years old at that time.

He is also noted as the only male actor to win the Best Actor award at both the César Awards & Academy Awards for the same film and year through his role in THE PIANIST.

As an actor, Adrien grew up in a strong artistic environment. His mother, Sylvia Plachy, is a legendary photographer whose works have been published in the New York Times Magazine and The Village Voice, and his father, Elliot Brody, is a painter and also a history professor who may have influenced his expressive acting style.

Compared to his previous roles, the character in THE BRUTALIST is more complex emotionally and socially. While in THE PIANIST he portrayed suffering in the context of survival, this time he plays someone who struggles to build something from scratch, facing rejection, and maintaining his idealism.

Through his role in THE BRUTALIST, Adrien Brody has managed to win more than 20 awards for Best Actor, and is poised to potentially win his second Oscar at the 97th Academy Awards on March 3, 2025.
