Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth are three actors who star in the iconic dystopian film series, THE HUNGER GAMES. THE HUNGER GAMES is a film series adapted from the novel by Suzanne Collins.

The second film in this series, THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE, became one of the highest-grossing films of all time. Its success led to the release of a prequel in November of this year titled THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES.

Reported from Entertainment News, there were a lot of young actresses at that time who auditioned to play Katniss Everdeen. Besides Jennifer Lawrence, there were Hailee Steinfeld, Chloe Moretz, Emma Roberts, and Shailene Woodley. However, it turns out that the director, Gary Ross, was really impressed with Jennifer Lawrence's acting abilities.

They said Lawrence was too old to play the 16-year-old Katniss, while Lawrence was 20 years old. The hairstylist of THE HUNGER GAMES also hired six fake hair in various shades of brown as a guide when coloring Jennifer Lawrence's hair.

The film's soundtrack titled Safe & Sound, written and performed by Taylor Swift and the Civil Wars, won a Grammy Award, KLovers! The song won in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category at the 2013 Grammy Awards.

As reported by Entertainment News, when the film was released in March 2012, THE HUNGER GAMES set a record as the third highest-grossing film released in 2012 in terms of domestic revenue, earning US$408,010,692 or 6.2 trillion Indonesian rupiah (calculated with an exchange rate of US$1 equals Rp15,393).
