Olivia Munn Reveals Will Undergo 2 More Surgeries After Cancer Diagnosis

Olivia Munn, an actress who has been battling breast cancer, recently revealed that she will undergo two further surgeries in an effort to recover from her illness. Diagnosed with aggressive and rapidly spreading luminal B cancer in both breasts, Munn had to take drastic measures to ensure her health and safety.

Munn first revealed her cancer diagnosis to the public through social media, stating that she has undergone four surgeries in the past ten months, including a double mastectomy.

This decision was made to eliminate the hormone source in her body to prevent the recurrence of cancer. Munn also revealed that at the age of 42, after being diagnosed, she had frozen her eggs (ovum) as an effort to anticipate future family plans with John Mulaney.

One month after undergoing a biopsy, she had to undergo a double mastectomy procedure (removal of both breasts). "Surprisingly, I only cried twice," she wrote, adding that she has kept all her personal stories since the diagnosis, worries, treatment process, and personal recovery until she is ready to share them with the public.

Diagnosis of breast cancer experienced by Munn serves as a warning about the importance of early detection for many people. In February 2023, Munn underwent genetic testing with the proactive goal of her health and the result was negative for 90 types of cancer.

However, two months later, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The mammogram results showed a normal condition, but an MRI examination conducted after the doctor stated her risk of breast cancer was 37 percent, and the biopsy result confirmed that Munn has Luminal B cancer.
