On the 79th anniversary of Indonesia's independence, we are once again reminded of the great services of the national heroes who fought selflessly for the freedom we enjoy today. These fighters sacrificed their lives and everything they had to liberate the country from the chains of colonialism and to realize a sovereign independent Indonesia.

As a form of homage, many Indonesian filmmakers have highlighted the struggles of the heroes through biopic films and historical stories. Not only do these films present inspiring tales, but they also provide us with the opportunity to get to know the figures who played significant roles in the nation's history.

With dedicated performances, the actors and actresses of our homeland portraying these national heroes are able to revive their fighting spirit, even achieving prestigious awards for these roles.

In commemoration of Heroes Day on November 10, 2024, here are recommendations for Indonesian films that depict the struggles of national heroes. Through this series of films, we can appreciate once again the values of heroism that they have passed down to future generations.
