6 Characters 'LIGHT REPLICATORS', Involved in Cases of Drunken Selfies and Sexual Violence on Campus

The film LIGHT REPLICATORS has just released details about six characters in the story. The six characters are played by young actors whose acting steals the attention. Under the direction of director Wregas Bhanuteja, they become the lifeblood of the film that opens with the case of drunken selfies that went viral. 

After her drunken selfie went viral, Sur (Shena Cinnamon) loses her scholarship because she is considered to have tarnished the reputation of the faculty. Sur doesn't remember anything that happened to her last night. This is the first time Sur has come to her campus theater victory party and finds herself unconscious.

Sur asks for help from Amin (Chicco Kurniawan), her childhood friend who is a photocopy shop worker living and working on campus, to find out what really happened to her on the night of the party.

THE LIGHT OF THE COPIER is the first feature film by director Wregas Bhanuteja. This director has won many awards, including the Indonesian Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival. Some of Wregas' works include the short films LEMANTUN, PRENJAK, and THERE IS NO ONE CRAZY IN THIS CITY.The story in THE LIGHT OF THE COPIER begins with Sur (Shena Cinnamon) who attends a theater community victory party on her campus. It never crossed her mind that after that she would get involved in a case.

A drunken selfie of Sur circulates. As a result, she loses her scholarship. Sur herself does not remember what actually happened because she was unconscious on the night she attended the party.Shena previously starred in the film QUEEN OF BLACK MAGIC.

Sur then asks for help from her childhood friend, Amin (Chicco Kurniawan). Coincidentally, Amin is a photocopy guy who lives and works on campus. With Amin's help, Sur is determined to find out what really happened to her on the night of the party.

Chicco's acting can be seen by KLovers in the movies POSESIF and DEAR NATHAN. Wregas chose Chicco because he saw the young actor's dedication in the world of acting. Wregas believes Chicco can find the essence of Amin's character in this film.

Farah (Lutesha) is Sur's friend who is also involved in Sur's selfie case. Wregas believes Lutesha is capable of portraying Farah, who has complexity and implied emotions.

Tariq (Jerome Kurnia) is also Sur's friend. Jerome portrays this character as someone with an unusual past. Not many people have life experiences like that.

Dea Panendra plays the character Anggun, a theater director at her campus."I admire Anggun's character because at a young age, she is smart and daring to express her opinions. With a lot of knowledge, Anggun is not afraid to show who she is. She can survive in many things. Her character is dominant, but also vulnerable because she is still dealing with her young adult life. At the same time, she also has empathy for others because she has a good heart and likes to share. Anggun's character is very solid," said Dea.

Giulio Parengkuan portrays Rama, a screenplay writer in the same theater as Anggun. The character Rama poses a challenge for Giulio because Rama comes from an artistic family and also has philosophical thinking.

Wregas presents this film as a medium to voice that sexual violence is close to our daily lives. And how assistance to the victims can be sought.

This film is strengthened by a lineup of young and senior actors, as well as experienced crews in the Indonesian film industry. Amid the decline of the Indonesian film industry due to the pandemic, Rekata Studio and Kaninga Pictures continue to work by implementing strict health protocols in the production process.
