Amara Sophie's Struggle on the Set of 'I HAVE TO DIE', Sleeping During Breaks

Kapanlagi.com - Going through the shooting process of a horror film is not an easy task for Amara Sophie, especially since the filming schedule often runs until the early morning. While involved in the film I HAVE TO DIE, Amara admitted to struggling against extreme drowsiness and fatigue while on the shooting location in Yogyakarta.

The reversed shooting schedule took a toll on her body, compounded by the mystical disturbances she experienced. This led Amara to often use the breaks between scenes just to close her eyes and regain her stamina.

"Yes, actually during the shooting I try not to think too much, but it is quite disturbing because, you know, when we are shooting a horror film, the schedule is usually a bit reversed. We tend to shoot more at night. And when I'm not shooting and have already gone to sleep at 1:00 or 2:00 AM," said Amara Sophie when met at XXI Epicentrum, South Jakarta, Thursday (26/3/2026).

Amara admitted that her fatigue felt abnormal because she felt followed by supernatural beings throughout the production process. This made her helpless and often fell asleep in the middle of the crowd on set to cope with her tiredness.

"It might not disturb the shooting too much, but it’s more like I always sleep in every scene. Because I’m tired, because I’m being followed, right? And no one there said that I was possessed until the last day," she claimed.

Fortunately, the production team provided special security at the location to ensure the safety of the cast and crew. Amara only realized the reason behind the presence of the guards who were always near her, even when she was not in front of the camera.

"There are, there are, there are (the guards). That's why it feels like 'why am I sleeping at the basecamp while others are shooting, the person guarding me is following me, you know?'. I mean, why not just set it up with more people. It turns out, 'Oh, this is the reason,' you know. Because they are accompanying me," Amara shared.

Despite facing physical obstacles and unseen disturbances, Amara continues to strive to deliver her best performance as Tiwi. For her, the experience of shooting at the cottage-shaped accommodation in Jogja became one of the most memorable moments in her career.

"Yes, I mean if we are filming, it can go from night until morning. And there are many moments where, because at 2:00 - 3:00 AM I get disturbed, I end up not being able to sleep until the sun comes up," she concluded.

The film I MUST DIE, produced by Rollink Action, is set to greet audiences on April 2, 2026. In addition to presenting horror, this film will also feature performances from Mila Rosinta, Tuminten, and Agus Sunandar.
