Andre Taulany Returns as the Main Actor, Wants to Prove His Acting Skills to His Child

Andre Taulany has finally been entrusted again to take on a leading role in a feature film through COMIC 8 REVOLUTION: SANTET K4BIN3T. After a long time mostly appearing as a cameo or supporting actor in various film titles, this time Andre gets a very significant portion of scenes.

The former vocalist of Stinky admits that he has often appeared briefly in comedy and drama films. His most memorable main role for the public might be when he starred in the soap opera and film Kiamat Sudah Dekat over a decade ago. Andre's return as a main actor certainly presents a unique challenge for him.

Andre feels the need to prove that he still has what it takes as a character actor, not just as a comedian or presenter. In fact, he has a special motivation to show his acting skills to his child, Kenzy.

"Even my own child Kenzy doesn't believe it. His father is an actor. I said, 'You watch this movie. Dad will prove it. Dad is an actor.' So I was like, 'Ah, I have to try to show my acting skills,'" said Andre Taulany when met at XXI Epicentrum, South Jakarta, Saturday (22/11/2025).

Initially, Andre felt a bit insecure when offered the lead role with a lot of scenes. Considering his busy regular shooting schedule, he was worried he wouldn't be able to manage his time well. However, the trust from the production house made him confident to take on the role of Ki Bagus.

"I myself wasn't confident when asked to be the lead in this film. It's not that I wasn't confident, but I understood that the timing was quite difficult. Because right now, I am in a regular schedule with Hesti, who is my partner. I said, 'Why am I trusted to be the lead and get so many scenes like this?,'" Andre explained.

Hesti Purwadinata, who is his co-star, confirmed that Andre has a very large role in this film. According to Hesti, Andre's appearance as a cameo shaman in previous films actually sparked the audience's curiosity to see "Pak Haji" in action for a longer time.

"More than 20 scenes, yes. Maybe because at first Pak Haji (Andre) appeared several times as a cameo shaman. After that, he appeared again as a shaman," said Hesti.

Andre also added that this strategy might have been intentionally designed to spark the audience's enthusiasm. Now, the public's curiosity will be answered through his full appearance throughout the film.

"Finally, people were like writhing, wanting 'Come on again, Pak Haji again.' 'It has to be Pak Haji, it can't just be for a short while?' like that. So indeed, Falcon's strategy is like that. I was released for a short while, maybe people are curious," concluded Andre Taulany.
