Arbani Yasiz Once Played the Character Dilan, His Sundanese Accent Carried Over While Involved in the Production of the Film 'AZZAMINE'

Kapanlagi.com - Actor Arbani Yasiz is involved in a film titled AZZAMINE which is adapted from a best-selling novel of the same name by Sophie Aulia. He plays a religious male character named Azzam.

However, during the initial preparations for filming, director Benni Setiawan realized that the role of Dilan from the film ANCIKA: DIA YANG BERSAMAKU 1995 was still influencing Arbani. This was evident from his strong Sundanese accent.

"Previously I met Arbani in the film about Dilan. So there is a lot of homework for him. Regarding the dialogue, Dilan is very Sundanese," Benni admitted when met at Grand Indonesia, Thamrin area, Central Jakarta, Monday (19/8).

1. Change Appearance to Match Character

It didn't take long for Arbani Yasiz to fix his Sundanese accent. To make it convincing, he also changed his appearance so that the role of Azzam would come to life even more.

"So at that time, I had a discussion with Mr. Benni about how if we made Azzam have a beard. In the end, it was agreed to make the change. This beard grew quickly in a week," said Arbani on the same occasion.

2. Hoping to Reach One Million Viewers

The film ANCIKA: THE ONE WHO WAS WITH ME 1995 managed to attract over one million viewers during its run in theaters. Arbani Yasiz hopes that AZZAMINE will achieve the same number of viewers.

"God willing, hopefully it will happen (to get one million viewers). That is the hope of all the cast and filmmakers," Arbani concluded.

AZZAMINE will be released in theaters starting Thursday, August 22, 2024. This film under the banner of MD Pictures highlights the love story between Azzam and Jasmine that begins with an arranged marriage. In addition to Arbani, the film also features Megan Domani, Arafah Rianti, Dina Lorenza, and Alex Abbad.
