Arya Saloka Plays Doctor Teto in the Horror Film 'LEMBAYUNG', Ready for Any Pros and Cons

Kapanlagi.com - Actor Arya Saloka once again captures the attention of his fans with his new role as Doctor Teto in the horror film titled LEMBAYUNG. In this film, Arya portrays a character that is vastly different from the protagonist roles he usually plays in previous projects.

This time, he must delve into the character of Doctor Teto, a mysterious dentist with a complex personality, which could potentially draw criticism from the audience. Despite the potential for controversy surrounding this character, Arya Saloka does not feel worried.

“This is a film, right? As Baim Wong (the director) said, there are pros and cons, I enjoy the process,” said Arya Saloka at the press screening of the film LEMBAYUNG at Epicentrum XXI, South Jakarta, Friday (13/9/2024).

1. Enjoying the Challenge

As an actor, Arya expressed that he enjoys the challenge of creating a new character. In his role as Doctor Teto, Arya admitted to learning a lot, especially in understanding his character's psychology.

“Because my pleasure as a performer is to create new human beings. In fact, when I play (the character) Teto, I learn a lot because I have to study psychology. A person like this is indeed enjoyable,” explained Arya Saloka.

2. Quite Heavy

However, Arya also does not deny that the role of Doctor Teto is quite heavy for him. This complex character even disturbed his thoughts during the shooting process.

“It’s quite heavy as well. It weighs on my mind because it feels like during the process it disturbs me personally, you know, because I have to dive into it,” said Arya Saloka.

3. Self-Control

Nevertheless, he tries to control himself so as not to be influenced by the character when leaving the set.

“But how can I have a side where I must control, I as myself must control my acting, you know. I as myself must control that,” concluded Arya Saloka.

The film LEMBAYUNG, which also stars Yasamin Jasem, Taskya Namya, Oka Antara, Anna Jobling, Erick Estrada, and Asri Welas. Directed by Baim Wong, the film LEMBAYUNG is set to greet audiences in theaters starting September 19, 2024.
