Beby Salsabila's Mystical Experience in Korea Adapted into the Film 'TOLONG SAYA! (DOWAJUSEYO)'

The production house Heart Pictures officially released its first work titled TOLONG SAYA! (DOWAJUSEYO). This film is based on the true experiences of Beby Salsabila Mulyono, an Indonesian student studying in South Korea. Beby shared this story at the gala premiere event at Epicentrum, Jakarta, on Wednesday (21/1/2026).

On that occasion, Beby explained that the film's story originated from a mystical experience she had in July 2023. The character Tania in the film represents her, who faced unusual events while at a café in South Korea.

"I am the owner of the original story. So this story is indeed based on a true story that we commercialized," Beby revealed when met at the Gala Premier of the film TOLONG SAYA! (DOWAJUSEYO), XXI Epicentrum, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (21/1).

The film's narrative depicts a tense atmosphere in a study cafe. While studying with friends, Beby sees a pregnant woman wandering around. Strangely, not a single person around her seems to notice the presence of this figure.

"I asked like, 'Did you see that person?'. My friend said he didn't see him at all," recalled Beby.

The incident continued until her meeting with Dr. Park, which became a significant point in the true story. While trying to help the pregnant woman, Beby actually fell and was saved by a man who was later identified as Dr. Park.

"I wanted to pull, and there was someone pulling me. As a result, I fell on that man's chest. When I looked, it turned out to be Dr. Park," explained Beby.

It was later discovered that the study cafe location used to be a burial site. The recurring mystical experiences even caused Beby to suffer serious disturbances, leading her to decide to return to Indonesia for spiritual treatment.

"I often experienced possession until I moved houses, and when I could no longer stand it, I finally went back to Indonesia first, and in Indonesia, I underwent ruqiah first," said Beby.

Not only about the story, the production process of this film also involves spiritual permissions and complex bureaucracy. Beby admitted to visiting each of the locations in Korea to ask for permission before the shooting process began.

"I went to each place, I spoke in Korean, saying that in Korea there are also many gods. So I asked for permission to tell this story and we have no bad intentions in telling this," said Beby.

In addition, Beby also helped with the filming permit which was eventually moved from Seoul to Busan with the help of her professor, Professor Kim Su-il. This viral story will also be adapted into a novel titled Korean Ghost Story.
