'HAJATAN SETAN' Releases Official Teaser, Scene of Ari Irham Possessed Becomes the Highlight

Interestingly, this teaser will also be shown as the opening for the film The Bell: Call to Death, which will start screening in theaters on May 7, 2026.

Ari Irham himself admitted that this scene was quite challenging. "It's one of the scenes that really drains energy, because I have to explore a lot of unnatural body movements. But it's also exciting because I can truly let go and try something new on set," he said.

The director, Drias, also explained the horror concept that this film carries. "We want the audience to first feel the atmosphere. There’s something wrong, but the cause isn’t fully visible yet. The terror in this film doesn’t just come suddenly, but is built from things that feel close to everyday life," he said.

2. Ready to Screen in Southeast Asia with a More Immersive Experience

Not only released in Indonesia, Hajatan Setan is also scheduled to be screened simultaneously in various Southeast Asian countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar. This is because the story is considered to have a connection to the culture in the region.

"We see the potential of this story to be accepted regionally, as it is rooted in traditions that also have a connection to the cultures in Southeast Asia," said Budi Yulianto, the Executive Producer.

Interestingly, this film will use Dolby Atmos technology, which makes the watching experience more 'alive'. From subtle sounds to startling effects, everything feels more real and immerses the audience deeper into the horror atmosphere.
