How Darius Sinathrya Delves into His Role in the Film 'LYORA: PENANTIAN BUAH HATI'

This film is a collaboration between Paragon Pictures and Ideosource Entertainment, which tells the story of a married couple's struggle to face the difficulties of having children.

In this film, Darius plays Fajrie, a devoted husband accompanying his wife, Meutya Hafid, who is portrayed as the Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi). Darius revealed that this role is not only emotionally challenging but also provides him with an opportunity to reflect on his journey as a husband and father.

Darius shared how he drew from his personal experiences, including when his wife, Donna Agnesia, experienced a blighted ovum or empty pregnancy. This, he said, became one of the references for delving into the character of Fajrie, who is full of sacrifice.

"It feels like every parent has one desire, which is to have children, to have descendants, and for me personally, it has also been an extraordinary experience," said Darius when met in the Kemang area, South Jakarta, on Friday (17/1/2025).

Darius added that understanding your partner's feelings is a crucial key in building strong communication.

"Sometimes, we as men don't understand what our partner is facing, feeling, seeing, experiencing, so communication cannot be established, and understanding does not develop," he said.

His personal experience with Donna has become an inseparable part of this character deepening process. He recalls the moment when Donna experienced a missed miscarriage after the birth of their first child.

"Donna, after our first child, before Diego, she was also pregnant but had a blighted ovum. So she went through the process of being cured and other things, and for me, that became a memorable moment for both of us," he revealed.

Although painful, the experience provided valuable lessons for both of them as a couple. Darius acknowledged that the moment shaped their maturity in facing household challenges.

"God has given us an incredible blessing; we have been given the opportunity to have a second and third child, but I think it's a small personal experience that I can also bring into this film later as the character Fajrie," said Darius.

Furthermore, Darius also explained the challenges a husband faces in supporting his wife, especially when dealing with pregnancy issues. He highlighted the importance of a husband's role as the primary supporter of his wife, both emotionally and physically.

"In the context of having children, of course, men will never be able to feel what it's like to suddenly have a life emerging in a woman's womb. But what we can do as men, as husbands, as future fathers is to be the best support system for our partners," he said.

For him, being a supportive husband means always being there to alleviate the anxiety and difficulties experienced by his wife. This also becomes part of the message he wants to convey through the character Fajrie in this film.

"The mother who gives birth risks her life, so what we do must truly provide a sense of comfort and support for our partner," he said.
