Sondang Pratama as the director revealed that the idea for this film actually emerged during the Covid-19 pandemic. The fear of losing parents before being able to serve them became the emotional reason behind the writing of
this film's script.

"Actually, the initial idea came during Covid. So we couldn't meet our parents, coincidentally, my parents live far away. At that time, there was a fear of people dying because of Covid. We were afraid we wouldn't be able to serve our parents anymore. Then I met Reza, we brainstormed, and it eventually became Dosa," said Sondang Pratama.

4. Horror Film with Strong Family Drama

Although it features horror elements and bloody or gore scenes, this film still maintains a strong drama foundation. The main focus of the story lies in the inner dynamics and emotional bond between a boy and his mother.

"Actually, it's more focused on the drama, because of the relationship between the boy and his mother," said Sondang.

This film stars Revaldo, Dominique Sanda, Jennifer Eve, Natasha Urbach, and Riza Irsyadillah, and is scheduled to terrorize cinemas across the country starting June 11, 2026.
