'LORONG WAKTU' Returns to Television, Airing Twice a Day During Ramadan - Featuring Several Characters That Make the Story Even More Exciting

After nearly two decades off the screen, the legendary religious soap opera LORONG WAKTU is finally back on air. This series, which combines Islamic values with a science fiction concept, is ready to accompany viewers during the month of Ramadan.

This soap opera will air every day at 04:20 WIB and will be re-aired at 15:00 WIB on SCTV. A lineup of new cast members will also appear, including Miqdad as Zidan, Renaga Tahier, Baiti Syaghaf, and Tika Bravani. Here are the details.

The last airing was in 2006, and the return of LORONG WAKTU this time is a nostalgic moment for its fans. Deddy Mizwar, the producer who also wrote the story for this soap opera, revealed the main reason behind the revival of the series.

"In recent years, there haven't been any soap operas featuring children's themes. Why don't we bring it back? Well, for now, the target audience is quite broad," explained Deddy Mizwar at SCTV Tower, Tuesday (11/2/2025).

"That's why I think LORONG WAKTU must exist. What I see is that children's themes are only represented by imported cartoons. I assess there is a lack of children's content," he added.

Not only that, the latest version of LORONG WAKTU also experiences improvements in terms of production technology. "It's a big difference, now we can use green screen and CGI," he said.

One of the most iconic characters in this soap opera is Zidan. This time, the role has fallen to Miqdad. He admitted that he initially did not expect to get that role.

"At first, it felt like a dream come true. I am actually a huge fan of LORONG WAKTU and a huge fan of Zidan. When I was offered the role, I didn't expect to be Zidan; I would take any role. When I found out I was going to be Zidan, it was a bit of a burden because everyone already knows him. But as I went through it, I was very enthusiastic; the shooting was also fun, especially with the help of my friends," said Miqdad.

Not only Zidan, but this latest version of LORONG WAKTU also introduces new characters that provide dynamics in the story. Baiti Syaghaf, who plays Tamara, Zidan's childhood friend, explained that there is a romantic element in their story.

"I became Tamara. She is Zidan's little friend. After growing up, there is a hint of romance there. The shooting process was happy because it was also a point of pride. Because this was a show I watched when I was little," said Baiti.

Renaga Tahier, who plays Alvin, mentioned that the character he portrays is the type of man who experiences changes in his life.

"Alvin is Tamara's boyfriend who, if we say in today's terms, is a red flag guy. But with the help of Tamara and Zidan, he becomes a green flag. The shooting process was happy, you know. Because it felt like coming home, since my acting started in Para Pencari Tuhan," said Renaga.

Meanwhile, Tika Bravani, who plays Najwa, admitted to feeling many valuable lessons during the shooting. "At the beginning of my career with Citra Sinema, after traveling around and returning to act in Citra Sinema in LORONG WAKTU, wow, this soap opera is really serious," said Tika.

In her role, Tika portrays a mother who prioritizes her child over her own needs. "In this TIME ALLEY, I feel like Najwa, reflecting how a mother prioritizes her child over her own needs. Sometimes we, as mothers, tend to complain a bit, but after reading the script, it can be like this. Hopefully, the audience can also take the lesson from it," she said.
