LOSMEN BU BROTO Film to be Adapted into a Series, Here's a Sneak Peek of the Lighter Plot with Comedy

Kapanlagi.com - The family film LOSMEN BU BROTO will be adapted into a series. Unlike before, viewers will be presented with a lighter and fresher story plot, although new conflicts will complement the story of the Bu Broto and Pak Broto family.

The series produced by Ideosource Entertainment and Paragon Pictures presents a new story packaging, new characters, and other things that differentiate it from the film version. Arwin Wardhana, as the director, revealed that he tried to maintain the visual and values that already existed in the LOSMEN BU BROTO film.

One of them highlights the Indonesian family side with Yogyakarta's cultural culture. The plot of this series is picked up four years after the film version. Check out the sneak peek of the story plot of the LOSMEN BU BROTO series below.

1. Lighter Story

The LOSMEN BU BROTO film was released last year, highlighting the story of the Bu Broto and Pak Broto family managing a losmen in Yogyakarta. The hospitality of the Bu Broto family in welcoming guests leaves a warm impression when watching the LOSMEN BU BROTO film.

Storywise, the plot of the LOSMEN BU BROTO series will be packaged lighter. So as not to cause boredom for viewers and show the differences from the film version.

"Actually, this is from a film to a series, and the format is very different actually. So the same value is tried, but made lighter in terms of watching. But the problems are actually quite heavy," said Arwin Wardhana, the director of the LOSMEN BU BROTO series when met by the Kapanlagi.com team at Ndalem Ngabean, Yogyakarta (2/6/2023).

2. More Comedy Portion

To be aired in 10 episodes, the series LOSMEN BU BROTO not only presents new conflicts but also situational comedy. This is what sets the series LOSMEN BU BROTO apart from films that have a higher portion of comedy.

"The comedy is more situational, not too gimmicky. Erick Estrada's character in the film, as Atmo, was not exposed much. Here, he is one of the biggest conflicts he faces. So, with his character like Atmo, but with ups and downs between him being sad and happy, it's here," he continued.

Erick Estrada, who played Atmo in the film LOSMEN BU BROTO before, returned to complete the story of the Bu Broto and Pak Broto family. He also revealed the difference in his character, which can now express more comedic aspects without deviating from the main storyline of the series LOSMEN BU BROTO.

"For this series, the film before was heavy. Heavy but very good, with only 20% - 30% of comedy. From the script, I can say that this one has 60% comedy," said Erick Estrada when interviewed by Kapanlagi.com.

3. New Character Development

The series LOSMEN BU BROTO also has a number of new players and characters. There are Wulan Guritno, Febby Rastanty, Ayushita, and Sisca JKT48. The series also presents current conflicts that are relatable to today's era while still maintaining a relevant story for Indonesian families.

"The problem is more current. If before, it might be more related to its time. If now, it's made to be related to the problems of today, this era," said Arwin Wardhana.

The character Anna, played by Wulan Guritno, is revealed to bring new problems that will stir up the Bu Broto and Pak Broto families. Meanwhile, the character Mbak Pur, played by Ayushita as a new player, will continue from the previous story.

"Wulan Guritno actually, from the beginning, when there was the character Ana, me, Mas Ifa, and from the Paragon side, we already had the idea for her. No one else thought of it. Because maybe, she can give something different here." As for Ayushita, actually, she continues Pur from before," he continued.

In addition, each episode of LOSMEN BU BROTO series is known to present new characters as guests or supporting cast. This is what distinguishes the film version from the series, which is fresher.

"There are new characters, new conflicts, we can see the characters in the film more deeply, physically, psychologically, we also see new product designs. So hopefully, people will not get bored following the 10 episodes," said Pandu Birantoro, Producer of Paragon Pictures.
