Performing Violent Scenes, Lukman Sardi Apologizes Multiple Times to Nirina Zubir

Kapanlagi.com - Actress and presenter Nirina Zubir is involved in a film titled PARANOIA directed by Riri Riza. In this drama thriller, she plays the role of Dina, a woman who is a victim of domestic violence.

Nirina is very happy to receive a role with an unusual background. Because not all actors can get a character that is far from their real life.

"From the first time I was offered and read the character, I was like wow, it's really challenging, Dina has the issue of domestic violence but remains strong in front of people. That's why I feel like I'm being reborn because not all actors have the opportunity to play something out of the ordinary. I feel that. This is why I act in films, for the exploration of characters, to become someone else," said Nirina when met at the press screening of the film PARANOIA at Epicentrum XXI, last Thursday.

1. Lukman Sardi Apologizes

In several scenes in the script, the character Dina is portrayed experiencing violence from her husband. As a professional actress, Nirina Zubir doesn't mind when Lukman Sardi explores the role.

"There are several scenes where Lukman repeatedly apologizes. He would say, 'I'm really sorry, Na,' when he wanted to pull my hair. Then there was one scene, until Mas Riri and Lukman approached me. They said, 'It's okay, right, Na? If you're uncomfortable, just say it,'" shared the wife of guitarist Ernest Syarief.

But Nirina is very relaxed in her response. Because she wants to show people that the issue of domestic violence is experienced by many.

"Na said, 'It's okay, just do it.' Because Na actually wants to give an idea that this happens to some people, in some families, we have to show it realistically. So I'll take it and I'll do it for the best that I can," she concluded.

Because of her role, Nirina received a nomination for Best Leading Actress at the 2021 Indonesian Film Festival. Curious about her acting? The film PARANOIA can be watched starting from November 11th in theaters across Indonesia.
