Play a Character Without a Name and Dialogue, Here's the Story of Randy Danistha as a Former Pedophilia Convict in the Series Name For A Band

Kapanlagi.com - Musician Randy Danistha is involved in a new project series directed by Gamila Arief and produced by Pandji Pragiwaksono entitled Name For A Band. The series, which will be aired on Comica.id on June 9, 2023, is a big challenge for Randy.

It's quite unique because the character he plays has no name and no dialogue at all. He also tells how he realized that the character he played had no dialogue at all during the script reading.

"At first, I was invited to join this project and it turned out that the series had been around for a long time, so continuing the existing story and many people liked it. Then I was invited to become a new character that, in my opinion, is rare and rarely seen," said Randy Danistha when met at Comica.id, South Jakarta, on Monday (5/6).

"The character has no name and no dialogue. So, during the reading, I was waiting for my dialogues until the script became thin and it turned out that I had no dialogue. Okay, I had to create a character for the audience to be curious, it was very challenging," he continued.

Randy also explained that besides having no dialogue and name, the character he played has a quite extreme background. In Name For A Band, Randy had to play a character of a former convict with a pedophilia case.

"My character is a freak, a pedophile, but he has repented, so that he can be seen as normal by society. That's why I played an old lady but with a childish and childish appearance," he said.

Furthermore, when asked further, Randy Danistha said that he took references for the character he played from several films such as Prison Break, Texas Chainsaw, and Rumah Dara.

"If you know the film Prison Break, there is a crazy character in it, then there is Texas Chainsaw, where the character is also a freak, and there is also a character in the film Rumah Dara," he concluded.
