In April 2024, there will be many Indonesian films that will be released soon. Of course, they come with various genres, one of which is horror, which is a favorite genre of many Indonesians. Now, this film SIKSA KUBUR can be the right choice for KLovers horror lovers during Eid!
 
This film tells the story of a character named Sita who has just lost her parents due to a suicide bombing. As she grows up, she lives with a great ambition to find the most sinful person to accompany her in witnessing the torture she will receive in the grave. This is done by being buried together with the corpse while recording it.
 
One day, she meets someone named Wahyu who has behaved badly towards her brother named Adil. Sita spends her days with Wahyu. Until Wahyu dies, Sita prepares to be buried in the grave to prove whether the torture in the grave is true or not.
 
Sita's ambition leads to a terrible event and triggers unusual things that happen in her workplace. But on the other hand, she remains curious whether she can see Wahyu, his sins in his lifetime, and whether he will be punished in the grave or not.

Film SIKSA KUBUR is Reza Rahadian's horror comeback film after several years. In this film, he portrays a character named Adil who has an introverted personality due to bullying and grows up to be someone with low self-confidence.

The poster design is well thought out. The snake figure on the poster represents the image of a torturing snake in the grave who visits humans who are negligent in their prayers. The snake figure is named Syuja'ul or Sajau Al-Aqra.

SIKSA KUBUR film is the first interactive film in Indonesian cinemas. This film has a rarely found concept. A concept that provides a new experience for the audience to participate and control the course of the story.

Through a press conference promoting the film SIKSA KUBUR, Joko Anwar revealed the reason why he used Opick's song titled Bila Waktu Tlah Berakhir as the soundtrack of his film. He used the song because it has the same spirit and story as the film SIKSA KUBUR.

Not only screened in Indonesia, the film SIKSA KUBUR is even screened outside of Asia. In an interview during the premiere release of the trailer, Joko Anwar explained that international screenings are still in the negotiation process. The plan is for the film to be screened in seven other countries shortly after its release in Indonesia.

This film brings together top Indonesian stars. The main cast will be played by Reza Rahadian as Adil, and Faradina Mufti as Sita. In addition, there are also Fachry Albar, Christine Hakim, Happy Salma, and Slamet Rahardjo who also play important roles.

This film is an adaptation of a short film titled GRAVE TORTURE released in 2012. The 7-minute short film was also directed by Joko Anwar. Now he has made a longer version lasting 117 minutes with SIKSA KUBUR.
