The renowned director Hanung Bramantyo has finally found a project that is very personal and touches his heart. He has officially been appointed to direct the legendary Iranian film remake, CHILDREN OF HEAVEN, under the auspices of MD Pictures.
At a thanksgiving event held at MD Place, Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Monday (06/10/2025), Hanung revealed that this project came at the perfect time and feels like a special gift.

"For me, this is also a special gift in my birthday month," said Hanung Bramantyo.
More than that, this husband of Zaskia Adya Mecca admitted that he has long desired to make a film that he can watch with his children. As is known, some of his recent films like Ipar Adalah Maut have an adult rating.
"I really want to invite my children to watch at the gala premiere. But what happened was only my wife could watch because the film is rated for 17 and above," he explained.
On the other hand, producer Manoj Punjabi also has a strong personal reason. He admitted that he was initially hesitant, but his heart softened after watching the original film with his family.
"At first, to be honest, I was hesitant. Wow, after 30 minutes, it really hit me. My wife cried, my child was moved," reminisced Manoj Punjabi.
That touching moment with family is what made him sure. For him, this is a "sign" to bring back quality family entertainment.
"I received this sign from God to do and create projects like this again," he added.
This Indonesian version of Children of Heaven will start filming on October 8, 2025, and is scheduled to be released in theaters in 2026.
