Reasons Melly Goeslaw Chooses Brisia Jodie to Sing the Soundtrack 'MERINDU CAHAYA DE AMSTEL'

Meanwhile, Brisia Jodie was chosen to sing the song. Melly Goeslaw explained her reason for choosing the Indonesian Idol alumna to sing the song.
 
"So, when I work on a soundtrack, I have to agree with the singer. If they offer singer A, I don't want it. If they offer singer B, I don't want it. When they offered Jodie, I had a different thought that, according to me, is out of the box, that Jodie singing is related to the story in this film," said Melly Goeslaw at CGV Grand Indonesia, Central Jakarta, some time ago.
 

1. Having Good Appreciation

According to Melly Goeslaw, besides having a good voice, Brisia Jodie can appreciate a song well. Not only that, Melly Goeslaw chose Brisia Jodie because she is a non-Muslim and considered very suitable to sing a song about love that is hindered by differences in beliefs.

"Besides her voice, in my opinion, there is one thing that only Jodie can sing this song because it is about connecting with someone who experiences an extraordinary but forbidden love, and it must be someone like Jodie who sings it," said Melly Goeslaw.

"This is about a love that is too great but forbidden because of differences in beliefs, and it should be sung by someone who is non-Muslim in my opinion. I chose Jodie because there are many good singers, but not many who sing with feelings. She has a good appreciation for the interpretation of the song lyrics. I believe she can really embody this song," she continued.

2. Brisia Jodie Feels Grateful

Upon hearing praise from Melly Goeslaw, Brisia Jodie felt very flattered. She can only be grateful for all her achievements so far.

"I'm so happy, very grateful for whatever happens in my life is a blessing so I always feel grateful for it," said Brisia Jodie.
