Returning to Acting, Bunga Citra Lestari Credits Reza Rahadian and Support from Noah

Kapanlagi.com - After a four-year hiatus from acting, Bunga Citra Lestari is returning to the big screen. She is involved in a romantic comedy adaptation of the Webtoon comic titled PASUTRI GAJE. In her new film, BCL will be starring alongside Reza Rahadian. 

Bunga admits that the character of Adelia she plays is quite challenging. In addition to having to change her physical appearance, she also has to change her way of thinking and behaving like a twenty-something newlywed woman.

"I changed my hair and lost weight for this film. As for the physical aspect, it's actually easy, but the difficult part is how to play at this mature age while still being playful and fun like in my twenties. How do we make ourselves younger while carrying more life burdens? We have to go back to our twenties, how we think, what we dream of," said Bunga, who was interviewed at Falcon Pictures' office in Duren Tiga, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (20/6/2023).

1. Noah Sinclair Provides Support to Bunga Citra Lestari

To return to acting, Bunga Citra Lestari received full support from her son named Noah Sinclair. In fact, her son was enthusiastic when he found out his mother was going to act in a movie again.

"Noah already knows. My child is now grown up and he is also excited that I am returning to the film industry. This is a sign that I am taking another step forward. I am brave enough to take on a film and commit to it," said Bunga.

2. Reza Rahadian as a Factor

One of the reasons why Bunga Citra Lestari was willing to participate in the film PASUTRI GAJE was because of Reza Rahadian. As a close friend, Reza was the one who convinced her to join this project.

"The last time I acted in a film was in 2019. This is the first time I am touching a script again, reading again, filming again, and starting to build a character again. It was quite challenging because I was mostly focused on my personal life and then singing. Fortunately, I'm acting with Reza here, and we have good chemistry. We are close friends outside of the film, so there is a lot of communication, which helps me to believe in myself more," concluded Bunga.
