Revealing the Reasons Behind the Film 'FALLING IN LOVE LIKE IN FILMS' Black and White, Ringgo Agus: Not to Be Different or Cool

Kapanlagi.com - The latest film by director Yandy Laurens titled FALLING IN LOVE LIKE IN FILMS (JCDFF) will soon be released in theaters. The film, produced by Ernest Prakasa, is considered unique because it is almost entirely black and white.

Two actors involved in JCDFF, Ringgo Agus and Nirina Zubir, when interviewed at Kapanlagi Youniverse, Central Jakarta, on Monday (20/11), revealed the reasons why the film adopts the black and white concept. They believe that there is a specific reason why the film was made this way.

"Why black and white, not to be different or cool or anything like that. No, the honest reason is that some people want to look cool, but for me, in my generation, I watched black and white films," said Ringgo Agus.

"There are several black and white films that I have watched, one of them is the film Siti. It's a black and white film because it's good, heavy. In this film, it depicts wounds, it portrays a woman losing her husband and two years later losing her child, so black and white is used to make it more dramatic and to capture a certain mood that cannot be disturbed," he continued.

However, Ringgo Agus asserts that the JCDFF film is not a heavy film that requires viewers to think hard in order to understand the storyline. He describes this film as easy to digest and the story is related to the lives of most people.

"This film is not heavy, it's a romantic comedy, easy to understand, related. It's not just about shooting, but there are things that make it difficult," he said.

On the same occasion, Nirina Zubir explained that black and white represents loss. It's as if the color of life is lost until eventually the two characters in this film are brought together.

"Eighty percent black and white. Hana loses her husband, depicting the darkest point when losing color. Then she meets Bagus, a high school friend," said Nirina Zubir.

Ringgo Agus also added that the black and white mentioned in the movie JATUH CINTA SEPERTI DI FILM FILM is a manifestation of the feeling that wants to be conveyed to the audience.

Just for your information, JATUH CINTA SEPERTI DI FILM FILM will be released simultaneously in theaters on November 30, 2023.

"So there is a meaning behind the black and white, there is a feeling. If I explain it here to those who haven't watched, it won't make sense," Ringgo Agus concluded.
