Rey Mbayang Stars in the Film 'MENUNGGU BUNDA', Admits Surprise to Co-Star with Donny Damara and Putri Ayudya

Kapanlagi.com - The name Rey Mbayang was previously known as a singer. But now, the handsome 23-year-old also ventures into the world of acting.

There have been three films that this father of one has starred in. However, only one title has been released to the public, titled MENUNGGU BUNDA.

When offered a role in Richard Oh's film, Rey never expected to co-star with Donny Damara and Putri Ayudya. The two names have already made a name for themselves in the film industry.

"I didn't know who I would be acting with before. When I came for the reading, I found out that Donny Damara would be playing the father and Putri Ayudya would be playing the mother," Rey said when met in Duren Tiga, South Jakarta, recently.

1. Acting alongside Seniors

Rey Mbayang is very enthusiastic when entrusted to be involved in the film WAITING FOR MOM. Because he is able to absorb many lessons from his co-star whose acting quality cannot be underestimated.

"I'm really happy to be acting alongside seniors in the field of acting. I'm also impressed with the film, not only the story, but also as a whole. In my opinion, this film was made sincerely, not formed to be a certain way," said the husband of actress Dinda Hauw.

2. Received a Warm Welcome at JAFF 2021

WAITING FOR MOM premiered at the annual Jogja-Netpac Asia Film Festival (JAFF). Positive responses were received for this family drama starring Putri Ayudya, Donny Damara, Rey Mbayang, Steffi Zamora, and Adinda Thomas.

If you haven't had a chance to watch it yet, Richard Oh's film can be legally accessed through the streaming service Klik Film starting from December 17, 2021. In addition to WAITING FOR MOM, there are two other family-themed films titled EYANG TI and WHEN TO MOVE HOUSE.
