Star 'AKU JATI, AKU ASPERGER' with Jefri Nichol, Here are 7 Photos of Dikta Acknowledging Moments While Accompanying His Deaf Brother

Pradikta Wicaksono, better known as Dikta, revealed an interesting fact about his life that not many people know. This came to light when he starred in his latest film titled AKU JATI, AKU ASPERGER, produced by Falcon Pictures.

In this film, Dikta plays the character Daru, the brother of Jati (played by Jefri Nichol), a person with Asperger's syndrome. Although it is just acting, Dikta's ability to portray the role feels so natural, as if he has direct experience with people with special needs.

It turns out that this natural performance is not without reason. Behind the scenes, Dikta has indeed had a close relationship with people with special needs since he was a child. One of his closest individuals is his older brother, Jasmoro Wahyu Diati, or affectionately called Arty, who is hearing impaired.

His closeness to Arty has made Dikta interact a lot with the special needs community, including those with Asperger's syndrome.

"Since I was a child, I happened to have relationships with friends who have Asperger's, autism, deafness, SLBA, SLBB, SLBC, because my brother is deaf," said Dikta at the press conference for the film AKU JATI, AKU ASPERGER, Thursday (17/10/2024).

Since childhood, Dikta often accompanied and took Arty to school. This experience helped him understand the behavior of people with special needs. Dikta sees it as a privilege that not many people have.

"Since I was a child, taking my brother to his school, I happened to have the privilege of knowing how their behavior is," he said.

Because of this personal experience, Dikta feels very connected to his role as Daru in the film AKU JATI, AKU ASPERGER. According to him, it didn't take long to delve into the character of Daru, as he already has sufficient knowledge in handling people with special needs.

This film also serves as an opportunity for Dikta to showcase his ability to understand and portray someone with such a background. Dikta emphasizes that individuals with Asperger's syndrome are often faced with negative stigma, such as being perceived as difficult to socialize with.

However, he actually sees the positive side and advantages they may have that ordinary people do not possess. Dikta admires their ability to remember details sharply and their very orderly lifestyle.

"In my life journey, I have met friends with this asperger advantage several times. Why do I call it an advantage? I am amazed by them. They have something that we actually don’t have," he explained.

His experience working with Jefri Nichol in this film also reminds Dikta of the people he knows with asperger syndrome. According to him, Nichol successfully portrayed the character Jati very well. Dikta also felt touched by Nichol's acting that brought the character to life.

"They have something that we don't actually have. When I watched and saw Nichol portraying a person with Asperger's syndrome so well, I was like 'Wow, Nichol managed to recall me'," concluded Dikta.
