Prior to its release in January, JUST MOM had a World Premiere at the Jakarta Film Week on Saturday (20/11). Not only that, JUST MOM was also screened at the Jogja Netpac Asian Film Festival in the Indonesian Screen Awards category on November 28th and 29th, 2021.

Involving Hanung Bramantyo to Jeihan Angga

This film, a collaboration between Dapur Film and Taman Wisata Candi, involves several well-known names behind the scenes. For example, Hanung Brahmantyo and Palwoto as producers. Meanwhile, Jeihan Angga was appointed as the director.

Jeihan Angga, as the director, said that this film feels special and personal to him.

"Together with the writers, we have collected many stories related to mothers. What we have written in the screenplay is a collection of stories that are very personal to us and other viewers. This film can certainly be enjoyed by everyone because fundamentally, each of us has a mother," said Jeihan.

Meanwhile, Hanung Bramantyo, as the producer, also said that he is very happy with the outcome of the film and hopes that the audience who watches it can immediately greet their mothers after leaving the cinema.

"Jeihan presents a very warm film, and the chemistry brought by various actors complements the story of the film," said Hanung.

Telling the Story of a Mother's Struggle

The film JUST MOM begins when a mother named Siti loses the attention of her grown and busy children who are working. To fill her loneliness, she decided to take care of Murni, a disabled and homeless pregnant woman. Despite being opposed by her children, Siti still takes care of Murni even though her physical condition is also weakened due to cancer.
