There are three international film titles confirmed to have attracted millions of viewers when circulating in cinemas throughout Indonesia. In third position is THE CONJURING: THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT with two million viewers, followed by ETERNALS with two and a half million viewers.
Then in first position is SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME collecting a total of over seven million viewers. This number is likely to increase considering that the film starring Tom Holland is still playing.

The fact that the superhero Spider-Man has successfully attracted seven million people to the cinema has made producers in Indonesia optimistic. One of them is Sunil Samtani from Rapi Films production house, who is confident in releasing PENGABDI SETAN 2 this year.
"Why release it this year? Because I am quite optimistic after seeing the films that have been released earlier. There is SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME which has a great audience, and some other good films, that's why I am optimistic," said Sunil, interviewed at Epicentrum XXI, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, on Thursday (6/1).
To pique the curiosity of the public, an early teaser of PENGABDI SETAN 2 was shown before the film DEAR NATHAN: THANK YOU SALMA was screened. This was done intentionally to make the audience impatiently await its release.
"Indirectly, we announced that PENGABDI SETAN 2 will be shown this year, that's why we released a small teaser to inform everyone," explained Sunil.
PENGABDI SETAN 2 is currently in the finishing stage. If there are no obstacles, the film, which will be directed by Joko Anwar, will be ready for release in the second semester of 2022.
"The release will be between June and December. Because PENGABDI SETAN is a significant intellectual property, we hope that by that time, the audience regulations will be fully implemented," said Sunil.

Meanwhile, Joko Anwar himself posted a viral post on his Instagram account. There, he wrote, "He's coming again. Soon. This year. In theaters. Ready? #pengabdisetan2."
